The depths of the forest wide open before me; drenched in crepuscular light
Irritating roots and branches lead me into an infinite absurd maze
As I am slowly walking above grey leaves, I perceive the funeral march
The procession of black-clothed ghosts crawls towards its impending doom
Their faces are empty masks of forgotten hope; relinquished by it long ago
As I am being petrified by their appearance, their gaze suddenly grazes me
They are turning
Their judgement; cast towards me
They are approaching
I am running past the trees, hag-ridden; breath abandons me
I have not been prepared for this; I have not been chosen for this
Finally, my fall -- I bury myself beneath the ashes of their shattered dreams.
